Selection Process

Selection Criteria for Nomination

Dreams Take Flight uses specific criteria to choose the children from physically, mentally and socially challenged backgrounds. The Winnipeg chapter of Dreams Take Flight picks children from Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Children are nominated from a variety of organizations and agencies.

  • The child must be between 6 and 12 years old.
  • Financially the child would not have the opportunity to ever experience Walt Disney World.
  • The child has never been to Walt Disney World or any of the Disney Theme Parks.
  • The child must be a Canadian citizen, and have, or be able to obtain a valid birth certificate.
  • The child must be able to legally enter the U.S.
  • The child is physically able to handle the long an extremely tiring day (approximately 20 hours).

Individuals can be nominated by sending a letter describing why you think the child should be selected. Send your letter to:
